European network of the young music scene

Then will host the first final in a three-day congress in popular music in the Hungarian capital of culture Pécs.

The winning band gets along with other prices in the title of "local heroes Europe". Local heroes Yourope is an initiative of the great non-commercial newcomer band competitions from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Croatia, the Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia – others will follow.

The annual European final and the attached popular music congress should help the European network of the young music scene to get new international dynamics – this is the goal of the new alignment.

What in 1989 with the merging of the two parts of Germany and with the start of local heroes so successfully started, can now therefore be pursued at European level.

More than 150 German initiatives, organizers and associations belong to the network now.
"What is being done successfully in Germany at the federal level for years can be applied to the same principle to Europe" said the organizers.
“Each state leads his project, having regard to a few simple rules, by working for the overall strategy.
In addition, performances of young bands are now even easier to handle because of international cooperation.

The strong will of the youth to exchange can put language barriers into the background via the medium of rock / pop music.
On the contrary, the musical expression is enhanced by regional and melodic influences and rhythmic characteristics. A beginning for the further understanding of the various nationalities in any event is made.

And it will also mean in the future: You play the music!

Europaweite Vernetzung der jungen Musikszene

Hinter den Kulissen, im sagenumwobenen Backstage, trafen sich die local heroes Landesveranstalter Janoz Szebeni (local heroes Ungarn), Dieter Herker (local heroes Deutschland) und Jasmin Fuchs (local heroes Austria) um Einzelheiten für das local heroes Finale Europa in Pécz zu besprechen.

Dann findet das erste Finale im Rahmen eines dreitägigen Popularmusik-Kongresses in der ungarischen Kulturhauptstadt Pécs statt. Die Siegerband erhält neben anderen Preisen den Titel "local heroes europa".

„local heroes Yourope“ ist eine Initiative der großen nichtkommerziellen Newcomer Band-Wettbewerbe aus Österreich, Belgien, Dänemark, Deutschland, Kroatien, Niederlanden, Polen, Ungarn, Rumänien, Serbien und Slowakai – weitere folgen.

Mit dem jährlichen Europa-Finale und dem angeschlossenen Popularmusik-Kongress soll die europaweite Vernetzung der jungen Musikszene zu neuer internationaler Dynamik verholfen werden – ist das Ziel der neuen Ausrichtung. Was 1989 mit dem Zusammenwachsen der beiden Teile Deutschlands und mit dem Beginn der local heroes so erfolgreich begann, kann jetzt folglich auch auf europäischer Ebene fortgesetzt werden. Mehr als 150 deutsche Initiativen, Veranstalter und Verbände gehören dem Netzwerk mittlerweile an. „Was hier in Deutschland auf Bundesländerebene seit Jahren erfolgreich praktiziert wird, jedes Bundesland führt föderal unter Beachtung weniger, einfacher Spielregeln, sein Projekt durch und arbeitet dem Gesamtprojekt zu, lasse sich nach gleichem Prinzip auch auf Europa übertragen”, sind sich die Organisatoren sicher. Zudem werden nun Auftritte junger Bands, auch über die Wettbewerbe hinaus, durch die internationale Zusammenarbeit einfacher zu handhaben.

Der starke Wille der Jugend nach Austausch lässt über das Medium Rock/Pop-Musik Sprachbarrieren in den Hintergrund treten.

Im Gegenteil, der musikalische Ausdruck wird durch Einflüsse regionaler melodischer und rhythmischer Eigenheiten bereichert. Ein Anfang zur weiteren Verständigung der verschiedenen Nationalitäten sei jedenfalls gemacht. Und so wird es auch künftig heißen: Ihr spielt die Musik!
